Generate Online Money [Tip #3] : Affiliate Marketing Is Not Easy - Here Are 5 Things You Must Know Or You Will Surely Fail

by Matthew Lord

I find it a bit disturbing how so many so-called guru marketers tell people that affiliate marketing is "easy." After all, how hard can it be? There are millions of people online, so you should be able to make at least 10 sales per day, right? WRONG.

Now don't get me wrong, I love affiliate marketing and make the majority of my income from affiliate marketing on the internet. With that said, I have also seen a lot of internet marketers who are just pushing their latest and greatest products, but they do not really tell people how to profit from affiliate marketing. Being a professional affiliate is just like running any other business, and you better be willing to work hard in the beginning to see the results that you desire!

So, in this article I am going to share with you my top 5 tips that you must follow in order to truly make a nice income online from affiliate marketing:

1. Get ready to work. I touched on this earlier, but some people want to make money, but do not want to work for it. Let me ask you a question: What do 99% of successful business owners have in common? I will tell you: They worked their butts off when starting their business. Affiliate marketing is no different, because you need to hit the trenches in order to succeed.

2. You need a website (or websites). Many people will try and tell you that you can earn money with affiliate marketing without a website. In theory they are correct, but as we all know a "theory" and a "law" are completely different things. When you have your own website, you control the content, and as long as you pay your minimal hosting fees and do not let your domain expire, no one can take that away from you. You also cannot perform the next step regarding my affiliate tips without your own website!

3. You need to build a list. Building a targeted email list is not necessary to start with, but if you want to create a successful, long term business with affiliate marketing then you really need to build a targeted email list of subscribers. In order to build an email list you must have a one page website, known as a "squeeze page." A squeeze page, or lead-capture page is simply a page that gives your website visitor a place to enter their name and email address. In exchange for them giving you their information, you typically give away a free report in exchange. For example, if your website is about weight loss, then you may write a short 10 page report entitled "How to Lose 20 Pounds in 20 Days!" I didn't create a list when I first started, and I still made over $1,000 per month. However, when you build a list, things get a lot easier and more fun!

4. Create great content. If you want to become a leading affiliate within your market, then you must deliver great content to your customers. This can come in the form of articles, eBooks, newsletters, videos, webinars, PowerPoint presentations, etc. There are hundreds of ways to syndicate your content, and you need to create great content that people will crave more than their morning coffee.

5. Leverage. Perhaps the most important component of creating a successful web based business of any kind is using the power of leverage. Leverage is essentially doing something once, and getting paid for it over and over again. For instance, let's say that you write a great article, and submit it to a popular blog within your niche. That article could potentially generate hundreds of views, month after month, year after year. That one piece of content can earn you a nice little income for months or years to come.

Generate Online Money [Tip #1] : How to Make Easy Money on the Internet in 10 Lessons!

by John Baril

Are you serious about making easy money on the Internet? The good thing is that working from home online allows you a very flexible way of doing business. You're able to operate your business how you want and are able to choose how you want to make money. The real beauty is that you can combine several different methods of making money online to increase and multiply your income.
So, how many of the methods listed below are you using to make easy money on the Internet?

1. Affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is the most popular form of a home based Internet business. There are literally thousands of companies and product owners that offer affiliate programs. With affiliate marketing, you earn commissions whenever you refer people to an affiliate website and they make a purchase.
Affiliate programs can be either goods or services, and commission payments can be one-time payments or residual (monthly), depending on the product or service. Residual commission payments are usually from subscription-based services like a membership site, web hosting service, etc. Residual commissions are paid to you each month for as long as the person you referred stays a paying subscriber for the service they signed up for. Another term commonly used is passive income.

2. Dropshipping.

This idea of being able to make easy money on the Internet is popular with eBay and other auction sellers. However, you can use the Dropshipping method for your own website, blog or e-mail newsletter. With this method, you sell goods from your website or auction listing, but the orders are then transferred over to your dropshipper who then ships the goods directly to your customer. The goods are shipped in a way so that the customer won't ever know that the product has come from a source other than you, the seller.
Most any type of goods can be sold using this method. Some dropshippers will even make custom goods for the retailer (seller) and then dropship it for them.

3. Direct retailing.

If you own your own shop, make your own products and have access to goods at wholesale prices, then you can offer your goods directly on your website or on an auction site. This can be a very easy way to generate sales, especially if you're selling a unique niche product that's in high demand.
However, the downside to this is that you'll have to handle customer support, deal with the financial side and pack and ship the products yourself. Not to mention overhead costs of owning a building, housing equipment, etc. As there are only so many hours in a day, you'll be limited to the amount of goods you can create, pack and ship without taking on extra staff. Regardless, if you're willing to do the work, this can be a very effective method to make easy money on the Internet.

4. Network marketing.

If you're interested in joining one of the thousands of online network marketing businesses and doing both selling products and building a team of distributors, this model might be for you. The nice thing about a network marketing business is that you can work it both off-line and online. Referring people to a website when you meet with them face-to-face is a very powerful way of backing up your sales pitch.

5. E-mail marketing.

This can be one of the most effective approaches to make easy money on the Internet if you're willing to put in your time and effort. Building a list and making money from it is all about creating and growing relationships with your subscribers and providing them with a valuable service. When people join your list they're giving you permission to send them information. They are, however, expecting good, quality content in return for the trust they have given you in giving away their name and email address. Make sure you provide them with the quality they are looking for. If you do, you'll earn their trust and their business. As a general rule of thumb, you should expect to make one dollar a month from each member on your list, or $1,000 a month from a list consisting of 1,000 active subscribers and so on.

6. Niche marketing.

Finding niche products, building a niche website around each product, then promoting it to the top of the search engines can be a very lucrative technique to master. The trick, of course, is to identify lucrative niche markets and then go out and find affiliate products that offer great commissions and that the market will want to buy. Once you have a profitable site setup it will not take much work to keep it running, so you can then move on to find a second niche market to exploit. One popular resource for the products to offer niche markets is Clickbank.com.

7. Blogging.

Set up a blog on your chosen subject, work like crazy to produce unique content, and monetize your blog with AdSense, Amazon, and other affiliate products. As your blog rises through the search engines, you may also be able to accept advertising revenue from people who are eager to plug into your traffic. Beyond that, a blog is also a great platform from which you can promote your own business products and services.

8. Membership sites.

These have become very popular lately. However, the market is huge, and if you have special knowledge of any kind you may be able to turn it into a membership site. Typically, a membership site makes money on the front-end through subscriptions to the site, and makes even more money on the backend through sales of additional goods and services in the membership. Obviously, for a mentorship site to work, there must be a real demand for the specialized knowledge that you offer, and you must provide a lot of good quality content on the inside if you are to build and maintain a loyal following.

9. E-books, Video and Audio.

Producing your own e-books, video and audio presentations can be a business in itself, or it can greatly enhance your business presence on the Internet. You can write an e-book about your business niche and give it away free of charge. Include links back to your sales page in the e-book. Likewise with video and audio, you can offer free downloads as a way to promote your business and give it some credibility.
You can also produce products to sell, such as video courses, or specialized e-books, audio mentoring services and so on. There is really no limit to what you can do with this type of media.

10. Podcasting.

This is really an underutilized area of the Internet; although, it is not really difficult to get your own podcast setup. You can think of a podcast as an audio newsletter. Just as with an e newsletter, you will need to offer a lot of good quality content. Back your podcast up with a webpage and refer your listeners to it so that they can find your special offers, and you can make money from podcasting.
As you just read, there are more ways to make money on the Internet than you can shake a stick at. Anybody with enough dedication can realistically make money on the Internet by using a combination of the methods I have mentioned. So, if you want to throw in your day job and turn yourself into a work from home millionaire, start researching some of these ideas about how to make easy money on the Internet!
